Christa Mierás

`Her music opens my heart`

Christa Mierás, born in Naarden, the Netherlands, grew up surrounded by the guitarmusic of her father, while her grandparents were playing piano and violin. Horacio Salgán (Buenos Aires 1916-2016) composer, arranger and legendary pianist, nominated her as his European ambassador and is the most important inspirator of her performances. She visited the Maestro several times in Argentina, while he was still performing and had the honour to follow masterclasses on every occasion. Christa Mierás played with the famous tango-orquestra “OTRA”, made her debut in 2001 in the Kleine Komedie in Amsterdam with ”Libertango” and worked since then among others with the tangoperformers Juan Carlos Tajes, Susana Blasko and Adrían Rodriquez.

She recorded the CD “Gracias por su música, Maestro” with the Argentinian guitarist Hernán Ruiz, as a homage to her beloved Maestro. “Christa Mierás y su Colectivo”,  founded in 2016, celebrated the 100th birthday of Maestro Horacio Salgán with a sparkling event with orquestra, singers and dancers. Since 2017 Christa performes with the promising guitarist Tim Panman, playing tango, folklore and jazz.

On special occasions she performed as a pianist at authentical locations like the Americain Hotel, the Magna Plaza, Posthoornkerk, the Gustafson and the Stanislavski in Amsterdam.
